I'm a highschool lover.

Yesterday I received a great parcel of joy from my dear friend, fashion icon and honorary Zandra Rhodes's niece Krista from PEETEE'S PLACE, she sent me two stunning dresses, a necklace she made and a beautiful headband !I'm wearing everything today, except one of the dresses, well obviously!

The dress is a vintage 50's prom dress and probabily you remember my post about prom fashion :"You are a stone fox" with Carrie, The Virgin Suicides, Brad Pitt and much more...
We don't have prom here, I know just a little about it from films or tv! I always loved the dresses, especially the vintage, pastel coloured ones, but I'm sure that I couldn't have been the queen of the event because I use to be more on the freaks & geeks side...anyway, I loved all the comments you wrote on it about your memories or dreams about prom or high school.

One of my newest readers :Geminae awarded me the Lovely Blog Award so I'm going to write seven things about me

1) I love insects and I've started to collect them, especially beetles and spiders.
2) (this should be part of the first quote, but because I already had three or four awards,I really don't know what to write) I named my three beetles after the Beatles, I still don't have a John though.
(Paul looks like a hofner bass, Ringo has polka dots on and George is a green metallic one).
3) I own a little taxidermy shark named Siegfried, my friend Clare from "Miss Simmonds says" chose it and I loved it.
4) I have a car licence but I don't drive, I take the bus.
5) My favourite place on earth is London.
6) Last time I cried was for John Lennon's death anniversary, few days ago.
7) I mostly hang out with boys because (most of) the Italian girls  are conservative and don't share my (or have any) interests.(That's why I have this blog: looking for like minded friends!)

I'm wearing:

Blue Lace Dress: Vintage from Krista
Skirt/Petticoat:Vintage from my granny
Belt: from a 60's bride dress
Gloves and butterfly wings: new from my daughters
Necklace: Krista
Big Skull bracelet: my sister's present
Little skull bracelet: Krista
Bangles and eyeballs bracelet: market
Handbag: An old Artist Miss Van's collaboration with Fornarina
Fabric crown: Vintage princess costume

Here you are some Miss Van's new artworks, I love her and I want to visit her current
exhibition in Rome soon:

  2. Good Morning Sunshine!! First off I love this picture of me and Peetee, you always make me look better than I do in real life maybe that is because I would prefer to live inside one of your paintings! I pick up my framed pictures today :)

I knew you would look this beautiful in that dress! I want to go to ant high school where you are the prom queen, you are my kinda of beautiful! The wings from your girls, all the pretty bits on your arm (love that turquoise skull bracelet) and those furry pom pom fingerless gloves, so fresh, so you, so NOT a typical Italian girl. You are made of cotton candy and all the boys would have wanted to dance with you!

Miss Van is blowing my mind I love her work! How can our world have so many talented people in it, sometimes I wonder. I still think I'd prefer to live inside one of your paintings. I'm so happy the dress fits and that you love it.

You are the best eye candy Edie and I love you more than ART!

  3. You look marvellous my beauty!! I love that dress...it's wonderful!! I love old prom dresses, I would hang them all over my walls if I could :) I went to prom (since I'm originally from America) we have two of them one for our Junior year which is the second to last year before you end highschool and your senior year, your last year of highschool. My first prom, I had no date, I didn't like the boys at my school, so I rebelled and went by myself and danced with my friends...it was so much fun, my dress was like a black and white 60's kind of dress. My last prom for my senior year, was like lime/light green...I loved it, it had crystals on it too, satin fabric..I wore what we call jelly shoes (not sure what they call them here, but they looked like these:

But, with a little heel on them. I had a date that year, but he was a creep, so I just danced with friends. It would have been nice if we went to school together, then you could have come too & we would have worn amazing dresses ;) I love those gloves and wings...so pretty!! And these art works are sublime...love those!! I hope you have a magical day doll...gorgeous gifts!! xxx

  4. As always I adore your posts. You look gorgeous in these shots. I've never much gotten along with girls either, never had many female friends growing up. The art is crazy and interesting. I love it!

  6. We didn't have proms when I was at school either, mind you it was an all girls' school, full of evil bitches who'd probably have chucked a bucket of offal at anyone who deviated from the norm (like me!).
Much better to be an imaginary prom princess amongst your blogland friends in that beautiful dress Krista sent you. You look like a film star, so gorgeous and ethereal.
That art work is absolutely amazing, what a talent she has! xxxxxx

  7. I love old prom dresses!!! That blue lace one is gorgeous. The art work is very cool. The eyes are so dark, scary, unknowable, almost alien... I like the one with the pig mask and the one siting on the stool by her dog.

  8. We didn't have a prom when I was young either, though it has been adopted by schools in the UK these days. I certainly don't think I would have been Prom Queen, that's for sure! But that is the great thing about blogging, you can find a like minded crowd and dress up however you like! You look stunning in the blue dress from darling Krista, what lovely gifts.
The art work is amazing, those animal head boobs are kinda freaky - in a good way! xxxxx

That blue frock is to DIE for fabulous! You just fox it up like a dream!
Sweet gloves and wings from your girls! They must LOVE how their mummy loves to dress up!
I often prefer hanging out with men too!! But I do love my ladies..mostly you lot, as my blog friends are more like minded, really, than my "real life" friends!

  10. Wow, you look amazing in your vintage lace dress and the necklace is fab. Krista sent you some lovely things and the artwork you've done of her is so pretty. Do you remember when Courtney Love played Glastonbury in fairy wings? Me and my friends hunted high and low for them after that and you couldn't get them anywhere, but now you can buy them in every toy shop!! I wear Miss 5's sometimes! Thanks for sharing the artwork. It's very interesting and provocative and I can see why you identify with it so much xxx

  17. Prom was not "cool" when I was in high school(early 1970's)Now it's insane. I much prefer the pretend prom, because all us misfits girls can go and be prom queens. Love the art.

  23. YOU LOOK AMAZING!!! I am constantly astounded by how you are able to put together the most perfect outfits (*~*)!!!!! I will have to look at most of Miss Van's artwork because I think I am in love with it... IT IS LIKE ADORABLE BUT CREEPY AT THE SAME TIME (sort of like you.... that was a compliment... I swear it was.. I like creepy things)!!! If you lived anywhere nearish the USA it would be awesome to go shopping with you!!! I mean I know a couple a people into fashion my age but you are kinda like an awesome mentor :)))!!! Sice I no longer go to public school I wont have a real prom but my boyfriend told me about this homeschooling prom so thats cool, hopefully I'll get to go because I really want to go as the trashiest, ugliest prom queen I can (lots of eye make up and a horrid 80s frilly prom dress and a blonde wig)!!! You stun me as usual with your beautiful outfit!!

  24. Every time I come here I am blown away by your vision - your photos, your style, your art, and this time Miss Van's work, which is so creepy/beautiful. The blue lace dress is awesome but I like how you added those furry gloves and the jewellery to pinch and twist it up.
