Chaos is blossoming'
I'm listening a lot to the last Mark Lanegan's record 'Blues Funeral', I love his voice and it is just perfect to enjoy the snow, my green tea and my melancholy.
Today I went to the charity shop and I was disappointed, but I didn't want to come back home with empty hands, so I visited a second hand shop and bought this weird 80's dress with sequins, shoulder pads and sheer sleeves.I think I don't like it at all!
I'm wearing dress: Vintage, second hand
fur hat: Vintage
brooch: Furla
The original post title should have been 'Funeral parade of roses' as a tribute to the Toshio Matsumoto's film from which I took some stills (it was a direct influence on Stanley Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange) and it well represents the Japanese 60's avant-garde aesthetics and counterculture.
I hope you'll enjoy my double funeral-something post!
Kisses !

i love your blog so much! your posts, especially the photos, always make me so happy.
ReplyDeleteI'm a sequin-o-holic so anything sequinny gets a thumbs up from me...I think I'd be tempted to cut the lining out of the dress and just leave the chiffon overlay. I really like your circus/cossack princess hat...xXx
ReplyDeleteOhh - i love that dress ! as always your photos are so gorgeus !
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful in everything you wear! I love that sequinned dress and Jennie's idea of cutting out the lining (on maybe just making it mini length) is such a great idea, we can see more of your gorgeous legs then!! I want your fabulous hat and shall find out more about Mark Lanegan on You Tube as your taste is always wonderful. Loads of love. xxxxxxxxxxxx
ReplyDeleteThe last photo is just mesmerizing to me. You look like some super famous showgirl! I love the hat with the feather! The sequins up top are crazy good and you will leave a trail of rainbow wherever you go wearing it. Snow? Will it be a white Christmas? I haven't heard of Mark Lanegan so I'll go have a listen and Toshio's film will go on my list since I had idea that is what influenced The Clockwork Orange! You always look so beautiful. Big KISSES and BIGGER love to you sweetheart!
ReplyDeleteXOXO
Krista
You look stunning! I love your style. xo

ReplyDeleteThe creativity of your posts is amazing.
ReplyDeleteAlso: I have an blog award for you: http://geminae.blogspot.com/2012/12/one-lovely-blog-award.html Hope you have time to accept. :)
Why don't you like the dress? I love it! And you look beautiful in it, as you always do. That hat with it's jaunty feather is gorgeous too.
ReplyDeleteI have the first album Mark Lanegan made with Isobel Campbell, but I need to catch up with what else he has done.
That final pic is exquisite. xxxxx
I know I've heard of Mark Lanegan, I think he may have done an album with the woman from Portishead? But I haven't HEARD him, but will certainly be looking him up now!
ReplyDeleteThat frock is WILD! Yep, shortening it, or taking out the lining could really jazz it up; that sequin bodice is just too fabularse!!!
Digging the cossack hat, I just love them.Makes a great foil for the frock, it's kinda Mongol meets Circus!
The Japanese have a faultless aesthetic and style, and some crazy ass ideas! I haven't seen that film, I shall also be hunting that out! I love to be introduced to new things!

I agree with Krista and I'm im love with the last photo!! So beautiful. I think the dress is beautiful but you need to be convinced, you don't look convinced in the photos. Perhaps you could shorten it, but the sleeves and bodice are so perfect! So many beautiful images, I need to look up this album and watch some of these films, you know how I love the Japanese aesthetic! Keep being beautiful, not very difficult for you! Xxxx
ReplyDeleteYou ROCK the FROCK, my love! LOVE these pics - the roses, the fur hat with feather - and the beautiful last pic. You are an artist from head to toe. I know NOTHING about Mark Lanegan - I am going immediately to grooveshark to find everything I can. Love you more than greean tea and melancholy funerals, Sarah xxx
ReplyDeleteThe last photo is sublime doll, love that!! And I quite like the dress, the bottom is stunning, I like the sequins and all :)) I think it's the time of year..I've been feeling a bit melancholy and really tired. But, seriously you look beautiful, I love it!! And I've been drinking green tea as well, with cherry blossom is in, quite nice, need it just now...don't like the cold so much!! But, keep that dress, too pretty!! <3 xx

Wow you look so beautiful in that amazing dress, and i adore the fur hat with the feather! Magical.
ReplyDeleteMark Lanegan has the best voice.
i think that dress is amazing! i would take out the shoulder pads, but i just don't like shoulder pads in general. the sequens are amazing! i missed reading your blog, so glad to be back!
ReplyDeleteI think this dress falls into the category of 'so wrong, it's right', in that I imagine it's a very different beast on its hanger, but when you style it and put it on, you transform it completely. I agree with the other suggestions to lose the shoulder pads and shorten the lining so that the outer sheer skirt than matches up with the sheer sleeves.
ReplyDeleteoh i think the dress is gorgeous with that hat, you are kind of a russian hippie princess on lsd ;) i mean i love it and your way to transform everything you wear in a piece of art! you are the inspiration in one person;)
ReplyDeletelove and kiss,mary
I got the parcel, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I loved it all soooooooo much.
ReplyDeleteI will do a proper post with all the photos. The bag is such a dream.
There is always so much in your posts!! I know I have said it before, but I have to look at them several times and let everything settle in!! Your photos are just otherworldly! They represent so many eras, really. I love visiting and getting lost in them for awhile. xoxo Lynn
ReplyDeleteI like the way you've styled the dress- I wouldn't have thought I liked the dress, but on you I like it very much!
ReplyDeleteBut I LOVE your portraits of Krista and Peetee! How wonderful- she is, and you've captured her thrill of essence.
How funny you hang out with gents in real life, and with us girls online. We are your yin and their yang.
