People try to put us d-down / Homesick Blues autumn vibes

The autumn is here, colourful leaves and cold breezes lead me through a compulsive shopping at the second hand shops in town.
The only thing that I scored was a modern version of a Parka jacket, that immediately awakened my inner  Jimmy Cooper, my love for Quadrophenia, the Who and everything related to the Mod's culture.

I noticed that many designers created 60's inspired collections for the next spring-summer, so well, because we don't want to be like anybody else, let's start from this season to be someone or, as Jimmy said:  you might as well jump in the sea and drown....

PRADA Spring/Summer 2013

LOUIS VUITTON Spring/Summer 2013

(my collages, The Who, Les demoiselles de Rochefort, Peggy Moffit, Quadrophenia)

I'm too busy acting like a Mod to care if my dress is too short.
I'm wearing
Parka: second hand
Dress: merci beaucoup (Japan) on ebay
Hello Kitty Necklace: antique market
Floral headband: DIY
Brooches: The Who and Lucy Nation present
Dirty Old Boots

Bellboy aka Ace the face aka Sting in Quadrophenia.

  2. I can't tell you how many times I've watched Quadrophenia, it's one of the best films ever!!! Your Mod tribute is the best, you look so hot in your parka and mini skirt, Ace The Face would die to dance with you and take you for a stroll along Brighton beach.
The vintage fair I'm doing on Sunday has a scooter rally, I'll try and take lots of pictures of pretty boys on Lambies! x

  4. You always make me think of things I had long since forgot, I really dug Quadrophenia but I bet it's been 20 years since I watched it! I love these mod collages makes me wanna get on a Vespa and come take you for a ride but you have to wear a short lil dress like that. You look hot and tough and beautiful how can you manage all that in one outfit? I love the contradiction in what you wear and I think you have a smoking hot bod! Hard to believe you have had two girls! I hope your trip to Florence was wonderful and maybe you and I could try to Skype next week? I wanna see you for real!

  5. I let out a big squeal when I saw this come up in my reader. Have you dyed your hair red? It really suits you, woo woo! I have seen Quadrophenia but it was years ago. You totally rock the mod look but then you have the perfect body for it. I would end up looking like a tubby Toyah Wilcox!! I love the parka, the over knee boots and dark nails, you look sexacious (as Helga would say) xxxxxx

  7. I love Quadrophenia. I have often walked around Brighton spotting all the film locations, I like the cafe by the pier especially. I have a US army parka like the mods wear on their scooters, it's always lovely and warm. I went to a screening where they had one of the scooters from the film on display, it was just lovely.
Do you like the other Who film, Tommy? That was filmed almost entirely in the city where I used to live and the street I lived in before I moved in with Andy is at the start of the film. My mum was also an extra in it and saw Keith Moon naked!

  12. Oh man, now I have to add parka to the "want" list, you make it look so cool! (I will look like a little kid dressing up in mum's clothes.) Can't say I loved or hated Quadrophenia, I guess a little of both, but I liked it enough to watch numerous times (the clothes! oh the clothes!) I think I'm due for another viewing. We used to always go to this great restaurant in London where they filmed exterior shots for Quadrophenia, I hope I still have the shots somewhere as I was writing a story about them, but then they had to shut down ): boo hiss XXX PS found you through Vix!

As always, such fabularse collages, you look to DIE for gorgeous, and so much inspiration!
I always cringe a bit at how hideous Pete was, but Roger is such a lamb. I understand he was genuinely quite a nice lad back then, and the others picked on him for it!

  34. "Play with us" ... oh you've picked my favourite evil twins as the background to your beautiful montages ... Anto has a pic of Jack on FB on the eve of **possibly** cutting his hair short;). He says he can send you scans of promo postcards of Vespas etc from the 50s and 60s featuring very stylised, beautiful ladies on them:). I adore the jacket and how it gave you the inspiration for this mod post - every single post is a work of art!! xoxoxo
