You are a stone fox

(IMAGE FOUND ON TUMBLR)

My daughters are back to school, holydays are oficially over and coming back to my ordinary life gives me both coffee nausea and a sort of thrill about what is going to happen next...
A new love? New career opportunities?
Let's wait and see... meanwhile I feel romantic and lazy (crazy?) and after reading in your comments to my last post how many 30 plus women read ROOKIEMAG, I feel inspired to do a sort of  teenage spirit photoshoot (too bad that my 6 years old photographer wasn't there today and all comes out blurry..)

I always dreamed to be a Prom queen...

( Photos credit : CARRIE, Courtney Love, JAWBREAKER, THE VIRGIN SUICIDES, Vintage prom photos and Bred Pitt prom, GRIMES, tumblr)

I'm wearing my favourite vintage dress, belt and skirt, sorry if reblogged, but I already say that I feel strange..

Lots and lots of bangles and bracelets as seen in "The virgin suicides"

  3. Love that dress it's wonderful...your prom look is top, love that!! Am pleased you enjoyed Parma Vintage, you can buy anything from their ASOS page just now until their website launches official, but I agree the mix of old and modern is too good and so much fun :)) Have a sweet day flower xx

  4. Proms weren't a feature of my school days, though they have been adopted by schools in the UK now. You rock the sexy grown-up Prom Queen look, your dress is just fabulous.
So what IS going to happen next??? xxxxx

  5. I never got the Courtney/Carrie connection before. That's almost the same dress. Prom was not cool with my crowd. Hippies didn't prom! We sulked about not getting asked, making rude comments about how lame it was. "Sulking" and "Rude comments", I kind of sucked as a hippie, but made a really good punk. One day I wrapped a scarf around my wrist and somebody I didn't know asked if I'd slit my wrist, the cheek! Of course I hadn't

  6. I didn't have a prom in my school, so I went to my best friend's prom instead. It was the '80's and back then everything was over the top. I had my mom make a simple black satin strapless, and I wore black pumps and a strand of pearls. I remember the French teacher being impressed, saying it was classic. I remember being horrified at how lousy a dancer I was.

Tavi is a genius, she adds so much substance to the issue of fashion, so I'm not surprised she resonated with all ages.
My boyfriend has even heard of her- we were talking about how big the Rookie is in the bloggersphere and for good reason.

  8. So many things I love about this post. I just adore your concepts. I can't believe how young Kirsten Dunst looks in The Virgin Suicides. I was obsessed with the film and the book but it only seems like it was a few years ago. One of my favourite looks of Courtney's is the raggedy doll prom queen and I had never got on to the similarity with Carrie either. Thank you for another visual feast. I hope your girls are settling back into school life ok? I'm intruiged to know what your next move is. Come on, share with us!! xxx

  9. The best thing about being an adult is that you can decide for yourself, and be a Promqueen every day - which you can handle radiant!

  10. Love all these things, Courtney, Carrie and the Virgin Suicides, your dress reminds me of a maxi dress I had when I was a kid too, and I loved wearing it. The influences you pick are the kinds of things that stir up so many feelings in a way that's really hard to define. xx

  12. Love this. I've always been fascinated by the concept of the prom, ever since I first watched Grease and Pretty in Pink. I'm not sure anyone would have chucked a bucket of blood at me, but I certainly wouldn't have been prom queen!

We didn't have proms when I was at school but I went to an all-girls' school so it probably wouldn't have been much fun anyway! xxx

  19. This post rocks as do all the ones you do, the images explode across my screen and are a welcome homecoming for sure. I love the mix mash up you always do of beauty and a bit of horror. I love your Prom Queen look and your arm full of candy is yum! You are the most beautiful Prom Queen EVER! Courtney Love needs a bath in pigs blood, seems fitting right?! I wore a red leather dress to my senior prom and it was the only dance I ever attended. My boyfriend didn't go so I went with a friend but hooked up with him later....spent the night in his VW bus....ahhhh it was a good night of memories.
I've missed you my dear! We talked about you at the meet up and wished you were there!
    LOVEYOU!!!!
